All About the Vikings
In honor of Leif Erikson Day on Oct. 9, the October issue of Viking includes an article highlighting must-know facts about the Vikings. These Scandinavian explorers, traders, farmers and warriors settled across Europe and North America during the Viking Age. They conquered new lands and created a well-ordered society rich in culture and art. Here are five more facts to know about the Vikings.

Another Norwegian TV series has broken into the North American market to satisfy the public’s fascination with the Viking age. Set in 790 A.D. in the settlement of Norheim, Norsemen is a spoof on ancient Viking life with a twist.
Celebrating Two New Lodges
The first new Sons of Norway lodge to launch in eight years, Viking Mountain Lodge 3-690 is located near Sherman, Pennsylvania. Their meeting place is Land of the Vikings (LOV), the District 3 recreational center set on 150 acres of wooded hills and surrounded by 5,000 acres of state game land.
